I have a fairly old domestic hot water gas heater - taps, shower but not central heating. The water from the hot taps and shower is only just warm. I have had a friend (plumber) look briefly at the heater between his other work in progress for an opinion. He has checked the flame/ignition through the glass apperture at the front of the case and although he thinks the water flow from the taps and shower could be better he has sugested that the problem could be the heat exchanger scaled up internally restricting the ability of the exchanger to transfer the heat from the burner to the water.. He has emphasised that this is only an opinion based on a basic inspection. Any comments welcome.
