is there an easy way of calculating the ammount an electrical item will cost to run per hour

That only works if its on on 100% of the time. So a 3kw oven will not be using 3kw all the time, but a 1Kw electric radiant fire bar will be.
So its a about thermostat as well.

Also, most utility companies charge two different rates for electricity, which makes the calculations easy(?)
