Nav error and/or electrical problem - including a hefty dose of bad luck ?

A potential fault with electrics :-

News just said the commander took an unauthorized route not in the navigation programing.
 
There's two different ships, two different incidents being referred to in the previous two posts.
The thread title refers to the most recent Italian ship disaster, as does Alarm's. The quote in the first post refers to A Queen Mary incident

I think empip is fully aware of thet, he was merely highlighting a recent "electrical fault" that could have resulted in a tragedy.
 
Maybe the Queen would be interested in a used slightly dented guaranteed low milage new Royal Yacht (needs a major service).
