I have installed Aurora en-dlm981x downlights and am now acoustically insulating the floor voids. The lights seem like quality units and one of the reasons for going with them is that they say I can insulate over with up to 300mm of fibrous quilt.

I started this today as photos but jus feels a bit unusual. Is this the norm now?

Some down lights should not be covered. Some can be. The ones that you have can be. You seem to be complying with the requirements for that product.

If they fail you’ll be able to go back to Aurora. Carry on mate.

If it worries you use some covers.
Moving a bit of insulation is negligible compared to lying in bed wondering about it
