Has anyone got any tips for putting up coving on not so level ceilings/square corners. I have put some up but find the line are not as smooth as i would like and the joins can be seen.

Thanks.

Use a string line across the room at the correct height and snap a chalk line on to give yourself something to work from.If you are butting joints up flat to each other then try mitring them to give a better, less visible, finish. With it being an uneven surface to work with you probably won't get a perfectly straight finish but will have to settle for a happy medium and use Fine Surface Filler to fill up any gaps. This stuff rubs down really well to give a very good result. You may find that if you are painting your coving a different shade to your walls or your ceiling then you can use the paint as your straight line so even with uneven coving the eye will determine the straight line of colour and it will look fine.
