Cracks in pebbledash

Hi,

I am noticing long cracks appearing in our white painted pebbledashed exterior over the last year, the latest running from the ground across to an upstairs window.

Is this simple to repair or is this indicative of something more serious i.e. subsidence? Also, why are they appearing now, I have lived here for 3 years and the house is approx 70 years old!
