Wondering if its a good idea to line my garage floor with plywood sheets? At the moment it has a very dusty and crumbly surface. Presumably it need to be screwed down. What thickness would be the best bet?
Thanks.

If it is that crumbly, you won't be able to screw plywood to it ,as the screws won't hold.
I would pour a new surface in concrete 2" thick after properly cleaning old concrete.
they make special cement for thicknesses up to 2" . You might even add
a wire mesh to strengthen.
But talk to your cement dealer as your best guide.

Depending on how bad it is you can get a gallon of PVA adhesive, water it down 3 water 2 PVA and brush it in, it will soak into the crumblig cement and seal it....Al

As pompeyal says seal with PVA then use a floor levelling compound, available from most builders merchants.

And if you want to go the whole hog, once this is dry paint with heavy duty concrete floor paint :D
