Cutting ceramic floor tiles

Is there a secret to cutting the tiles. I have a tile cutter but having scored the tile both sides the tile always seems to split down the middle.
What am I doing wrong? I have spoiled about 10 tiles today.

Maybe buy another tile cutter incase the old one blunt or faulty. You may not be scoring it hard enough and also make sure on the edge of the tile is score on both end at the thickness of the tile afterward
