cylinder stat looks like trv with vail

Hi all, i am wondering what you call or where to get a mechanical stat for the HW cylinder, its the ones that looks like a straight trv with the thermostatic head that has a vail on it that you can run over and put in contact with the cylinder sufrace. This is for a big house and using one that controls a motorised valve or programmer is out of the question.

It needs to be put on the primary to close the valve when up to temp. Or is there any 100% mechanical alternatives.?

No its not, a cylinder stat is something completely different your other replies are correct
