Hi

We have a problem with damp as our damp course is level with our interior floor and also level with our patio. In other words 'all three are level. The patio is butted right up against the brickwork of our house. If we reduce the patio height we are flooded out in heavy rain as our water table is so high which is why the previous owners increased the height of the patio. If we dig a trench along our brickwork and fill with shingle, will it help? Or am I dreaming? Do we need to do anything else?
Gel :(

Where do you live? On a marsh?

I suspect it would, although a bit more information is needed.

At the moment it's sounding like you need a moat a drawbridge.

Will certainly help the issue , but as you already know its not ideal. Hows your project coming along ?
