Hello!

I have an old terraced property. I've recently refurbish the living room which has included re-skimming one wall, fresh coat of oaint and wallpaper.

I don't know if this damp problem is and old issue and I've notice due to the new paint colour or if it's a recent issue.

Basically I have damp patches on 3 walls In random spots.

Wall 1 - the damp is just above the skirting boards on both sides of a radiator which led me to believe the radiator was leaking. There is damp on the same wall bit half way up the wall. I noticed when I put the heating on the area where this damp is becomes hit so is it a heating pipe issue? This wall is tye side wall joining onto the neighbours property.

Wall 2 - this is the front wall of the property. The damp is underneath a window.

Wall 3 - this wall is in the middle of the property which separates the living room from the kitchen. The stairs run just behind this wall through the middle of the property.

What can I do? Would it cost a lot to put right? I'd say it's rising damp but some of it is in the middle of the walls. I'd also say it's a heating issue as there's damp where the wall gets warm when the heating is on. Maybe the pipe runs to upstairs behind the wall??Can a general builder look at this or does it need a specialist?

Thanks everyone

How about letting us have a look at it by posting pics of the interior and exterior to your terraced house?

Dont jump to conclusions and dont do anything else but post the above pics.
