hello i could really do with some advice if anyone can help, my house is the end of a terrace of 3. the outside wall is severly damp on the inside, the confusing part is, the damp is worse in the bedrooms upstairs thatn it is down, i get black mould type on the walls upstairs all the time, i have had the side of the house re-pointed and the ridge tiles done so i know its not coming from there, the concrete floor is also reading high levels of damp, i am aware that concrete does hold a certain amount of damp but im getting readings of 60%, my job its self is drying properties out and dealing with this type of work, but this is really confusing me and i cant seem to find the cause of the problem, i can only imagine this could be rising damp but i dont have experience with this and so i dont know how to determine this, i have been told it could be just pure condensation and nothing else but this doesnt explain my concerete floors being damp, if anyone could advise me i would be much appreciated, many thanks

Cold concrete floors get condensation just the same - especially at the perimeter and junctions with external walls
It could be that there is a damp issue with the floor if the property is pre 1960 as it may not have a DPM under the floor. But a damp issue would tend to show as extensive damp of the concrete and not just at the edges
Your meter readings are pointless as they are just measuring surface moisture and will be high even if there are no damp issues
Are you aware of condensation elsewhere in the property and do you do the things which tend to cause it ... dry washing, no vents, infrequent heating etc?

ok thanks for the advice, there isnt much condensation anywere else it just seems to be down the one side of the property, i will investigate further, thankyou for your help
