Damp Patch on edge of damp proof course (solutions?)

Hi all, just purchased a property which has rooms in the basement 'lower ground floor', it has a concrete floor, but about an 1 1/2" from one wall where the damp proof course ends ( you can see the plastic sheet reach the surface, the floor is damp (that is to say it is damp between the edge of the dpm and the wall). It doesn't seem to spread up the walls, but is there something I can use to seal it, it only extends for about a foot or so along the wall, which is a party wall.

Sounds like your DPM doesn't lap into your DPC. But if this is in a basement I would imagine you wouldn't expect to see the DPC below ext GL? If you can post a picture or 2 it will help.

if the surface of the 1 1/2" strip along the party wall is in good condition - not loose/crumbly put an expoxy DPM down overlapping inwards to the room say 300 mm passed the existing plastic sheet.

if it's not then i would dig out and put plastic DPM in and refill fill with concrete overlapping the new DPM and existing plastic by at least 150mm.
