I had an inset gas fire installed a while back but not really used it much, recently noticed a small patch of damp just above the skirting below the fire...l initially thought it was rain coming down the old redundant flue but have since ruled that out.
Could it be from condensation forming on the body of the fire when it is first lit if it is cold outside which then seeps into the block work.
The installer says he has never heard of this or had a problem with other intalls he has done.
I never had the damp before the fire was fitted...everything looks ok around the outside vent.
Any advice much appreciated.
