ive got a straight up and over roof and just had a chimney remove on the gable under roof level cant take it right down as its part of the gable wall and is built in and outside making it 18inches - 2ft thick now when it rains water is pouring down inside bedroom walls

Hi. Can you post a photo or two as it is difficult to envisage the problem?

sorry not that good with computer, i checked in the loft and chimney is dry above the ceiling and damp under the ceiling strang i know

Hi. 1. As the chimney has been reduced to below roof line, what method was used to weather stack on gable end. (Was it caped to allow air circulation?)
2. When work was carried out was any insulation in the roof space removed and not replaced?

the chimney was felt and battened over useing breather felt.
the ceilings have only just been put back up and insulation will b added later
