Hi, I hope someone on here can help!
We have a danfoss 103 basic mechanical programmer for our pubs commercial concord CX 170 boiler. This boiler only does the central heating downstairs. This downstairs heating system is pump fed with basic twist to open or close round control knobs on many of the rads. There are no room thermostats currently fitted.

The danfoss 103 programmer is working but doesn't tick-tock any more so is probably on it's way out. Due to the timer limitations and the fact that when the fires are lit the boiler will still be on, we would like to be able to control the heating from the bar or our phones to save a bit of money.

Currently somebody has to go down into the cellar to either turn the water temp down on the boiler or put the heating off. This is then usually forgotten about and results in a cold pub! The other problem is people putting the heating on continuous and forgetting - resulting in tropical temperatures or turning the thumb wheel to off till C,B,or D

The danfoss 103 basic programmer can be set via 4 positions on the thumb wheel or by using the 4 slider knobs marked A-D on the timer clock... so A is first on time. B is first off time C is second on time and D is last off time.

If possible we'd like a more modern programmer with wifi and a hive or nest or similar system, so the staff can control the heating from the bars or office AND The family can check the heating status and control the heating independently as staff have been know to put the heating on continuous!!

We do have a wifi access point in the cellar.

We were quoted circa £10,000 to replace the boiler but due to current regulations would it would be very expensive to put a new boiler in the boiler room downstairs again. It would have to be in a staff only upstairs toilet!!
So this year we have decided to spend money on a new rational oven for the kitchen that would have otherwise gone into a new boiler. The engineer who serviced the CX 170 this autumn said although it's not as efficient as a modem boiler it's not too far behind so will hopefully last a few more years.(touch wood!)

Any help with any choices would be appreciated.

It would be nice for us in the family (family owned pub) to be able to remotely check the heating status on our phones but if (due to the age of the system) all we can have is thermostats in the office or bars that are linked to the programmer in the boiler room via wifi then that would be acceptable as well.!

thanks in advance for your advice on selections for our soon to be chosen heating engineer....

we are based in Newark on Trent, Notts. The pub is called Oscars Inn!!
