Everytime I need to alter the timer on the Ferroli I swear to buy a new timer for it. Trying to get it right with only 2 hr increments is difficult, and we don't need it on for 2hrs in the morning!

I've at last decided to do it and it looks like the Danfoss TS715 will suit my needs.

Is it a reasonably easy swap? I believe there are only 4 wires to connect, 2 power and 2 'switched'.

I'm quite competent at DIY and electrics but if anyone knows of any pitfalls I'd be grateful.

A digital programmer will give more accurate control for your boiler and has other features such as boost and advance modes, the TS 715 is a single channel time switch and may not suit your type of boiler.

You say in your post that you expect two switched outputs, but the TS 715 has only one switched output.

I am not familiar with a Ferolli boiler so you need to check the boiler manual for recommendations for fitting external controls. If it's combi boiler then a permanent live for the Hot water will usually suffice with the central heating requiring a single switch.

I know that the Danfoss has only one channel, the '2' I refer to is the number of wires to switch that channel. I only need it to switch on and off at predetermined times, but with greater precision than the standard Ferroli timer. I believe the Ferroli timer only has the same number of wires as the Danfoss uses.
