Hi,

I have a gas fire in the kitchen that needs to be cut off and taken out. Stupid question but does this need to be done by a gas engineer that is Corgi registered and if so, how much should I be looking to pay roughly.

There is nothing complicated about it, simply turn off the gas, cut the pipe and feed it back through to the outhouse, then seal the pipe. I am guessing ;o)

Thanks,
Martin.

As above but if the pipe is now truly redundant ie. you have no intention of using it again, then besides the above have it capped off as near to the meter as possible. Probably a 15mm branch on a 22mm tee.

Thanks for the replies, have someone coming on Fri, found him using the link and he lives around the corner. £45, does that sound about right?
