Had some artex identified as Chrysotile Textured coating.
Is it just a case of not disturbing it?
In one room planning to put new boards ceiling over existing, so that will remove those. In other rooms, need to paint the ceilings (painted brown at the moment).
Is there anything I need to consider, other than, not grinding them down and breathing in the dust?

I think I'll be covering with new board so it's all locked away.

Oh fine. Washing nicotine off textured Artex is a nightmare, you would have needed a special paint (classidur) that can be painted direct over nicotine which costs an arm and a leg!;)
Just wash down using as little abrasion as possible then use a stain blocking paint like Zinsser Bulls Eye 123 (two coats dries very quickly for re-coating) to kill the dark colour.
Then emulsion away as long as you don't damage the Artex you will be fine.
