I'm replacing a load of 'choc blocks not even wrapped in insulation tape under insulation' which junction boxes. Example: https://img42.com/0pvmr

I'm aware there's a few options on these (standard round junction boxes, Wago, Hager, Ashley, etc) - but has anyone used 'debox' available from Screwfix?
http://www.screwfix.com/p/debox-in-line-connector-box/8692h

These look fine for the job - but the same product is sometimes listed as "inline"which suggests to me that you only use them to connect two cables together rather than in a scenario where you're connecting a light to a lighting circuit.

So, can these be used as a junction box, or purely 'inline'?

Cheers,

If you look at the picture on the Srewfix site, you will see that the box will house a 4-way choc block, That would make it suitable for a lighting junction that includes the switch connection
HOWEVER
this type of JB (ie with screw terminations) should not be used unless it will be accessible.

If it is to hide under floorboards, etc you should be using a MF conncetor like the one suggested by Owain

Looks like the debox will be fine, from the photo provided, as they appear to be for downlights - if the rest aren't, you might need the ashley for those.

As above comments, if the joints are to be inaccessible for inspection, test and maintenance, they must be terminated using a maintenance free (MF) method.
The easiest product to use for a MF method are the Ashely/Hager MF junction boxes J803 (which is rated at 32A and has 4 line, 4 neutral and 4 CPC/earth terminals) or the J804 (rated at 20A with 4 line, 4 neutral, 4 CPC and 4 terminals for a switch line)
The junction box linked by OwianDiyer is useful for accessible joints in downlights but the J501 is not a MF junction box.

As noted by prentice boy, the one in owens link J501 has screw terminals and not classed as MF, though it is similar shape to the MF versions J803 and J804 which have push in terminals

Why is there no green/yellow sleeving fitted to the CPC in those Debox photos?!
