Was watching an episode of Wheeler Dealers (only car show I can stomach)

Ed China was cleaning up bits and pieces of gearbox & engine... he used a trigger spray with a degreaser fluid.
There was no rinsing off .. but unsure if this was a solvent based product or water based.
Anybody recommend a good degreaser ... for mechanical parts.

I have seen this on Screwfix .. https://www.screwfix.com/p/no-nonsense-heavy-duty-degreaser-5ltr/88668?_requestid=444519

Anybody used, or know of something better.

Appreciate you might want to rinse off BBQ parts or floors, but for mechanical parts no need to rinse is preferable.

One of the best degreasers around is Jizer - but it does need rinsing off. However if you have enough wipes you can achieve the same thing.
Solvent degreasers are frowned upon these days.....not green enough!
I think our Edd isn't showing the full deal- difficult to use a hose in his workshop!
A good series though, better than the 'new' show.
John :)

What was the thick brown degreaser that smelt like creosote? Gunk ?

For small parts, I've found the "Muc-Off Drivetrain Cleaner" (greenish fluid) that Mrs. Avocet uses for her beloved bike, to be pretty good. (Just don't tell her)!
