I am planning to install a wooden floor over a concrete base- solid wood with some Rewmar adhesive.

The concrete floor itself is level but the trouble is that because of an extension it is in two parts and about 1/4 of the room is about 5mm higher than the other.

If I use a self levelling screed it would mean than I would have to level up the other 3/4 of the floor which is a big area which would consume a lot of compound.

Question- can I use a levelling compound made up thickly and over 1 or 2 metres create a very gradual slope between the 2 levels which I could then put the wood over?
