Dimmer switch has two red sleeved wires in (facing the front of the switch) the left terminal, one red sleeved wire in the right terminal. There are two black sleeved wires connected separately with a plastic terminal. There are no earth wires.

The wall light has no power to either of the wires going into the wall light; black, red and earth.

What is the safest way to check which of the red wires at the switch form the lighting ring circuit? (Needless to say I turn off the lighting ring MCB before removing the dimmer switch.)

Thanks

Spackman

I would say the two reds are live in/live out and the otherv red is the feed to the switch the blacks are the Neutrals
