have a call to repair dripping tap in a large factory,, the tap is a armitage shanks it a mono block one its just one leaver which when off,, is over to the left hand side,, and as its moved to the left it starts cold and gets hotter the more its turned to the right,, they seem to be fitted to most disabled toilet areas ,, two questions as this got to be replaced like for like or is it OK to just swap for say a mono block wash hand basin tap??? by that i mean left cold right hot up for on single leaver,, or is there a repair kit ???/ if im correct theres no washers just a couple of springs and few other bits in there

just to add there is a mixer valve fitted below this whb so that may suffice the building regs? but is the a reg for the tap handle???
 
Either the tap or the 'mixer valve' will be a thermostatic regulator - to prevent those with less controlled hands from scalding themselves.

And no, a straight swap isn't allowed. Google for "Doc M Pack" for the regs, contains all the info about heights, equipment levels and spec.
