my next door neighbour likes to play music loud for no reason (i.e speakers on window facing outwards on full, whilst there inside)

is there anyway to make their RCD trip, turning the music off?

supply is TN-S and i think there on the same phase as my house

Andrew, what your proposing is illegal, dangerous and likely to end in a lot of tears...from you as the Police cart you away.

The only course of action is both the Police and the local Council. The council have a legal obligation to undertake an investigation if a complaint is made. Should they fail to act then you have the right to complain to the Local Government Ombudsman, but your MP may also be a point of contact to get things done.

The Police may claim this is a Council Matter, but Disturbing the Peace is still a criminal Offence and they have a legal duty to respond to any such complaints made.

Get all the other neighbours to sign a letter of complaint and present it to both the Police and the Council, if they still do nothing, then complain up the chain..not forgetting the local press.

Breaking the law yourself is never the answer, regardless of how tempting it may feel.

do they have a outside meter box? if so they may have an isolator in that. i dont think i have to spell it out  i dont think many people would think to check there if all their power went off, most people would stop at their consumer unit. If they do find it, you could always pull their fuse.

Crafty, that is criminal damage, and removing the fuse is theft.

reminds me of a time when there was a spate of burglaries in which company fuses went missing.
I had assumed it was to disable any alarm, but perhaps it was Andy's neighbours stocking up so they can keep the music on. Seriously, acompany fuse is NOT something to be messed with, even if the seals are missing.

I imagine that its highly illegal and dangerous, by a high-power EMP generator would also do the trick. There are plans on the internet if you search....

What's been the reaction of your neighbour when you've spoken to him about his behaviour?

So not a thug who's likely to get violent, or meet force with force?
