Hi.
I need this flow control handle for an approximately 15 year old Bristan shower valve. Part number 00621423.

Sadly discontinued and no sign on eBay.
Is anyone aware of any other sources for older Bristan parts?

Looking like I need to replace a £300 shower for a £30 part.

Many thanks.

C.

Thanks. City Plumbing have it on their site but it's not available. I saw the second part but its different.

The part I need connects to a ring which has wee ramps/cams which activate two pistons when its rotated to allow flow of hot and cold.

Have you any local hobbyists, who own a metal lathe? That part would be easy to make on a lathe.

What is wrong, with the part you have?

The thin metal handle is snapped off, damaging the ring and making it impossible to reattach. The shower still works but its hard to turn off with wet hands without the handle. It's in the kids bathroom so they may just have to live with it and I will keep trawling ebay for a used part.

Edit. Might try to 3d print a knurled ring to slip over it for grip.

Would a replacement handle be attachable?

Drill & tap then fit a SS bolt

I doubt that would be strong enough to last. The place it fitted was strengthened with wee walls to locate the captive nut. Unfortunately thats buggered.

I have wrapped a few elastic bands around it for now and the kids are not complaining to I will leave if now and keep looking of a bargain replacement valve of similar design.

Many thanks for all your help and advice.

Craig
