dishwasher not filling

I had a blocked sink and this was at the same time that the dishwasher was on. subsequently it was unable to drain. it tripped the electrics a couple of times. I managed to free the sink and drain the dishwasher. however now it will not fill with water. i hear the pump but nothing else. any ideas would be appreciated.
