Whirlpool Dishwasher ADP 136 WH/WPWater fills up then stops

Hi, looking for assistance.

on Programme 2 Dishwasher fills with water as normal, about a minute later drains itself. then repeats this whilst the control knob moves round. dishwasher arm jets dont move. just before programme 3 the dishwasher fills with water 1 more time and then stops. Would appreciate any helpful info or tips to prove fault
