The thermostat on my Proline PDW080 dishwasher has gone open circuit.
There is only one thermostat fitted. The replacement thermostat kit contains a self-resetting thermostat which operates at 90C and a self re-setting theomostat which is rated at 78C. There is a provision made on the base of the dishwasher for two thermostats, the only difference between the mountings being that a hole has not been drilled for the second thermostat. I would imagine that this is intended for the two thermostats in series with the non-resetter as a safety device to prevent boiling should the re-setter stick closed.
My dilemma is that my natural inclination is to fit the self-resetter but the existing defective thermostat has a red dot on the bottom - like the replacement non-self resetter. The self-resetter is unmarked on the bottom.
Can anyone advise me please which one to fit?
Thank you
