Our dishwasher makes a noise when it is draining (i think) as soon as you switch it on and several times throughout the cycle. It sounds like there is a load of little balls or something loose in the bottom. Filter clean
Whirlpool Dishwasher about 1yr old. Thanks

sounds like the "emptying pump" something may have got in it (probably some little small balls)

if it is under 12 mths it will probablty be under g'tee

if not follow the grey dischrge hose back and see what you can see (pump) if it looks alkward to take apart then it probably is, in which case call a service eng

If it makes a pumping noise as soon as you plug it in it could have gone into "leak mode", where it has (or thinks it has) got water in the base of the casing, and pumps continuously in case it's a leak. This usually involves a float connected to a switch in the bottom of the machine. Easy to reset, but a bugger to get to! Check all your pipe connections for leaks first, otherwise you might have to do it again. Even a tiny drip can set it off, as it builds into a puddle over time.
Hope this helps
