Suppose you subscribe to the theory that all races are the same. If that was true, then Africa would look like Europe, USA, Canada, NZ, OZ, etc, etc. However, it doesn't for one very obvious reason. Odd bits in South Africa and Zimbabwe may look a little bit westernised, but they're working hard to reclaim and remodel it to match the rest of the continent.

That doesn't make sense.

I would bet my pension that comparative mugging statistics between then and now would tell the real story. In fact most crime statistics would.

You're right. And they would have sorted out the problem.

The Krays would never have killed a kid for his bike. They were definitely violent criminals, not excusing them - though perhaps John would. Sorry, maybe not - they're the wrong colour. Only remember the Krays wiping out other crims.

Don't fall into the trap of romanticising them, they were violent thugs who put fear into local people and businesses, and preyed off of them .Where do you think they made their money from?

(But a great example of diversity as one of them was gay!)

Btw remember the Monty Python sketch along the lines of ' they were hard but fair, they'd only nail your hands to the floor if you deserved it'. ...?
