Hi

With both hw and ch off, on a y plan should the diverter lever have resistance at midway to manual, or no resistance through the sweep from auto to man?

Thanks.

Depends what was last port of call ch or hw.
What ever was last port of call the valve will stay in that position due to 230v on the grey wire ie ch or hw.

If heating was last called for the valve will remain open (floppy) , if hot water last called for you will feel a resistance.
