We are about to move into a house that has electric heating. Hoping to put in a heat pump, though the costs are high, even with the subsidies etc.
It seems that digging the trench for the GSHP might save me some cash. I guess also laying the underfloor heating panels also. Would certified installers be happy with this? Reading recent Energy Savings Truest reports, the installation is pretty important.
Also, how much room do I need in the house for the pump and pipes? I am assuming they are the size of a medium sized fridge, but the pipework looks to be a lot - I assume this is the same in both types of pump, as I am also assuming the pipes are for the UFH.
