Do I have to apply PVA Glue before repairing a patch of blown plaster

HI all
I know this is a stupid qustion but do I have to PVA before repairing a patch of plaster which has blown off wall due to a leak (which is now repaired).
The patch is about 8inch square.
Now for the next stupid question if the answer to first question is yes can I use childrens PVA glue?

Yes and yes.
Add water to pva.. 3-1 ish will do it

Just make sure the 'blown area is as localised as u think. Its unusual for such a small area of plaster to blow
