I am not a proper plumber, but... On site this morning, I went to use the outdoor tap and noticed that one of the t junction speedfits had split because of the frost. I mentioned it to the customer and suggested that it would be OK for a day or so until the frost went. It was cold- so I went to the pub. I then discovered that the pipe had thawed and was peeing out water. I went to my local supplier and picked up a new JS t junction connection. I fitted it (on copper pipe). It spat water out of one side. I flipped it over. It spat water out of the other side.
It was getting dark but I couldn't see any deformation in the copper pipe. I did, retrospectively sand both bits of copper pipe with 180 grit mesh paper.
Was it just a dodgy fitting or could it be the case that I nicked the o-ring? I have never has a faulty JS before.
Tnx in advance
