I recently increased my boiler flow temperature (system boiler) as the radiators weren't really coping with the very low temperatures. The house is now warm, but I've noticed that our hot water is noticeably hotter even though I haven't touched the cylinder thermostat. Is that normal?

What is the cylinderstat set to, if it was set to (normally) 60C and the Boiler flowtemp was only 50C all along then it wouldn't be higher than 50C??,
check cylinderstat OK by turning it up/down,, you should hear a click each time.o

Your cylinder stat, always needs to be set a little lower than your boilers flow stat, otherwise whenever the HW is set to on, your boiler will constantly cycle once the boiler has got the cylinder as hot as it can get the water, because the demand will remain, due to the cylinder stat.

60C is a common setting for the cylinder stat, because it ensures any Legionella is killed, and so the boiler flow would need to be set at 65 to 70, to ensure the cylinder stat is satisfied.

I have my HW cylinder stat set to 55c which results in the water coming out of the cylinder at 60c. In my case the cylinder takes a long time to get to 55c and the stat needs about 1.5hrs of 65-70c flow temps before it switches off. We must use a lot of hot water!

Thanks, I'll check the cylinder stat is OK - to be honest I rarely touch it.
