door handles no springiness

hi guys - just had a front upvc door fitted..by a double glazing company...ive come home and noticed that the even though the door handles are brand new..they dont spring back into their normal horizontal positions..do the handles need adjusting ot are they faulty.?..missus paid half the money to the installers, but kept the other half until this is resolved..

The handle screws may be a bit tight, just loosen them a touch

some handles rely on the mechanism for the spring action. Over time these will sag for sure. You should insist on handles with a built in spring to make sure this won't happen. It could be the screws are too tight or the plastic hasn't been routed properly, and the spindle is rubbing on the profile preventing it from springing back to the horizontal position.

i presume you mean the plates holding the handles to the door...i could only see one screw on the inside handle, i loosened it but has made any diffrence...there arnt any screws on the outside...the handles and key are made by Winlock..if its any help..

Some handles have a separate spring mechanism, may have been omitted.

i phoned them up...said it will be about a week before they can come..gave me some crap about them being new handles and in time will loosen up a bit....i said if you want your money you fix it..or you get **** all...
