Why is it that the rain bar on the sill is placed in the middle of the bottom of the door ? This means that when closed, there is approx an inch gap between the bottom of the door and the sill. Why do they not fit the rain bar in line with the side closure ? thus making a rectangular fit ?

the rain bar is set back so water running down the door can drip off the bottom and not pennetrate behind the bar
