We moved to our current house 20 years ago - the windows were UPVC. Over the past few months a couple of the openers mechanisms have broken - and subsequently been fixed. However a couple do not shut properly. I have also noticed condensation in the bedroom & bathroom windows. Both rooms have airbricks fitted - any thoughts please?

Hi
You will find the upvc profile will last for upwards of 30 years, but the hardware will fail long before this. Units are normally only warranted for between 5-10 years, and all the moving parts for 2-5 years. The trouble will come when they stop making the locking parts for the windows. The thing is 20 year old windows are not as thermally efficient as new ones and like the saying goes nothing lasts forever. Maybe it's time to change them.
