Hi Guys, I am just looking for some advice. I want to put downlights in a kitchen and a hallway but on inspection the ceiling appears to be of the acoustic type. It consist of a thin plaster sandwich with a yellowish foam substance in the middle. This is in a ground floor maisonette, so can only gain access from below.

1) Is it possible to install downlights with this type of ceiling
2)Can i use the fire rated integrated downlights or is this not appropriate
3) What are the fire/ acoustic issues involved?

Cheers!!
