Hi, I am closing up living/dining room internal wall with thermalite blocks. Using blocks as want better soundproofing than a stud wall wouod give. Floor is concrete, with what I assume are thin tiles (asbestos?) on.

1: Do I need to put down a dpm before start laying?

2: Can I lay on top of the tiles or do i need to lift them?

Was going to use wall profiles (strip approx 1200) for the ties

Any other tips appreciated

Cheers

Just me but you seem to be on the way.
1. no
2. on top
3. profiles ok - they can be sometimes a bit tricky tieing in an extension but if you want to do it that way then fine.

Remove short pieces skirting on all 4 wall nibs - refix long lengths.
be aware of cables anywhere on the wall nibs.
Cut back the plaster about 100mm at jamb returns - work to plumbed lines.
