Hi,
Just wondered if anyone had used a company to do a drain trace or CCTV to find were the drains run to. I want to check my outside toilet drains and wondered how much I would expect to pay?

They are not quite the same thing.

You might be able to hire a CAT with a metal rod and transmitter which would enable you to trace their direction yourself.

Why are you so interested?

The professional firms usually charge about £300 upwards as they are usually doing insurance or when there is no other solution available.

The cheap and easy way to do this is.

1. Go to your local supermarket and buy some red and blue bottles of food dye.
2. Pull up any man holes on property.
3. Get wife/girlfriend/mate to pour 2 bottles down the toilet and flush
4. See what colour runs through man hole
5. Use 1 colour per toilet or sink, you many need to buy a few bottles.

Total you it was easy...........cost about £4.00
