I have an Aga as the primary heating for a one circuit direct heat hot water system. Due to a change in the kitchen layout, I need to replumb the heating circuit to the Aga and would appreciate the following advice:

1) Do I need a safety valve as part of the Aga circuit?

2) Do I need a vent as part of the Aga circuit? In the current system there is some form of vent, but apart from a slight leak it appears to serve no useful purpose.

3) If I need a vent or safety valve where is the best place to site?

4) To ensure good circulation in the gravity fed Aga circuit, is it best to slope pipes to avoid horizontal runs? (Aga is approx 1 metre from
cylinder)

All advice much appreciated.

If you have a direct cylinder, the Aga will vent through it!

You must live in a soft water area!
