This device and the whle system seems to be working Ok, but it is getting very hot and emitting a constant loud buzzing noise (even when heating and hot water switched off). Is this normal? I am afraid that it is continung to 'actuate' and burn up electricity needlessly. Cheers...

They can buzz when old. Only about 6 watts though.

drayton valves have an awful habit of setting their microswitches on fire.

you can usually smell it if its doing that though

For how cheap and easy it is to replace the head I would change it ;)

only if its the one with the clip on head...otherwise you will need to strip it down and might as well just replace the faulty component part anyway.
