Hi all,
I need to drill through existing bathroom tiles in order to install a new shower. is there any specific kind of bit I need to use to drill through? Am I running the rick if cracking them? Any handy hints, tips, pointers would be gratefully appreciated.

Cheers,

Dackers.

Search the forum. I know it's a crap search facility, but you should find something.
Use a newish/decent masonary bit without hammer action, start slow until it's broken the glaze then you can increase the speed.

we found it helpful to use a piece of masking tape on the tile and mark on that where you want to drill as it stops the drill bit slipping on the tile.

Just keep the drill straight and the hammer action off :)

If you go to topps tiles or B n Q you can buy the spade tile bits that are meant for tiles. There really worth the money, i paid about £3 for mine. They come in different sizes aswell. Or you can use a newish masonry bit but this takes alot longer and the risk to cracking the tile is greater.
