So last night im fixing a shelf to the wall in our hallway, after drilling about 8 deep holes with a 6mm SDS masonry drill . For some idiotic reason i decided to grip the drill and push it back into the chuck as it had floated forward (bearing in mind sds chucks allow for this movement anyway doh)

Not thinking the drill might be blue hot queue 'sizzling noise' as i burnt the skin on my fingers and thumb gripping the drill... I pulled away quick but too late.
Spent most of the evening with my hand in a bowl of ice.. idiot.

I should know better at my age.

I was squatting while drill a tile, bit overheated and folded in half, I pitched forward as had weight against drill and head butted the tiled wall, did not knock anymore sense into me though.
