Duct tape / foil tape - what's best

Hello guys,

I'm after the strongest waterproof tape for taping insulation board in a cavity.

I ran into some problems with BCO over my pug content in the air space between foil and outter skin on a DIY extension I'm doing.

I had to take some blocks & insulation out to clear the pug now need to stick the insulation back and make good in some places.

Went to wickes last night because they did a branded foil tape thought it would be decent but I would have been better of using cling film. The duct tape I've used has just peeled away.. utter crap.

Foil tape has little shear strength and duck tape is not water or weather proof.
