I've got a couple of new wooden sash windows, that I've just glazed with d/g units.

The frames have come with dummy glazing bars (at my request) to fix outside, and I'm wondering what's the tried & tested method for fixing them. They're on second floor, so don't want them falling off!

Incidentally the units haven't got spacer bars (think that's what they're called) at the glazing bar positions, which I'm rather disappointed about.

I'm assuming double-sided adhesive tape is the standard.
Is there a tape recognised for the job?

obviously needs to stick to wood, and be weather resistant for many years.

Anybody had experience with this?

I'll also diagonally pin both ends of glazing bar, but there's not a lot of meat there.
