Hi guys....just a silly question really.

When you connect up a pressure gauge to a tap and open it, does it give you the dynamic or static pressure reading? If that gives you the static pressure reading, how would you get the dynamic pressure reading? Thanx 4 clarifying this point.

But if you leave it a while, surely this will become the static?

sorry dextrous has just point out my mistake. didn't read it properly

put gauge on say outside tap and open it. thats static.

put gauge on outside tap and open it then run another cold tap thats dynamic.

Don't forget the other significant part of a dynamic pressure reading is the flow rate at the open tap, so you can end up with several different readings, something like, say, 3 Bar static pressure, 1.8 Bar at 10 Litres per minute, 1.3 Bar at 15 L/Min etc. etc.
