    This basic battery charger was produced in the DDR ( East Germany)

    Manufactured by VEB Funkwerk Köpenick for charging seales Nickel-Cadmium batteries 9,6Volt/225 mA

    There are two versions ULG1 for 50Hz supplies and ULG1/60 for 60Hz supplies ( only difference is the value of current limiting capacitor )

    It is a minority interest but the comparison of that simple circuit with the circuit of a more modern battery charger may be of interest to the small minority.
